Manchester United have made an offer for the signature of 16-year-old Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile in the summer.

The Premier League giants have been ringing in the changes at academy level this season and in addition to Nicky Butt taking over as the academy director, Manchester United have also overhauled their scouting system.

Manchester United have hired fresh scouts all over Europe to identify young talent and it seems the club are moving forward for the signature of a French talent on recommendations of their new observers.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Red Devils have shown an interest in signing young Monaco defender Badiashile in the summer and are plotting to snare him away from the Ligue 1 champions.

A product of the Monaco academy, Badiashile has been impressing observers with his assured performances at the back for Monaco’s academy teams and still has two years left on his contract.

Manchester United have already made a firm offer to sign the 16-year-old talent and are hopeful of getting a deal over the line during the transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Badiashile, whose 19-year-old brother Loic Badiashile is the third choice goalkeeper in Leonardo Jardim’s senior team, is ready to move to England at such an early stage or continue to develop at Monaco.

He has also earned five caps for the France Under-16 team.
