Arsene Wenger feels Laurent Koscielny’s dismissal during Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Everton at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon was harsh.

The French defender was sent off for a reckless two-footed lunging challenge on Enner Valencia in the first half while Arsenal were in the lead at the Emirates on the last day of the season.

Wenger’s men weathered the storm with ten men and eventually won three points, which was not enough to earn a top four spot, but the Arsenal boss feels the red card was a harsh decision from the referee.

Asked about the Frenchman’s dismissal, the Arsenal boss told the BBC: "It was harsh but we have to accept the decision.”

With another defender, Gabriel Paulista, also suffering an injury during the game, Wenger has a huge problem in his defence ahead of next weekend’s FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.
