Atletico Madrid are keen to steal a march on Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Malaga’s Sandro Ramirez this summer.

The striker, who joined Malaga from Barcelona last summer, was in superb form for Albicelestes this season, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.




Sandro’s impressive form, coupled with his release clause being just €6m, has attracted the interest of several clubs both inside and outside of Spain.

Besides Atletico Madrid, fellow La Liga outfits Villarreal, Sevilla and Valencia are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, whose present contract with Malaga runs until 2019.
 


On the other hand, English clubs Liverpool, Tottenham, Southampton, Stoke City and Newcastle United have all been credited with showing interest in Sandro.

However, according to Spanish daily Marca, Atletico Madrid are planning to surge ahead in the race for the Spain Under-21 international.

Atletico Madrd, who are awaiting a decision on the club’s transfer ban imposed by FIFA by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, however want to tie up a deal for the Malaga man.

Although Los Rojiblancos are yet to know if they will be able to register the player in the summer, Sandro’s agent Gines Carvajal was present at the Vicente Calderon during the club’s win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday to discuss the finer points on a potential deal.

Atletico Madrid have also been heavily linked with a move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
