Massimo Cellino is now playing the waiting game as regards his offer to invest in Serie B side Brescia.

The Leeds United chairman is in the process of completing the sale of his 50 per cent stake in the Yorkshire giants to countryman Andrea Radrizzani – but he wants a quick return to football club ownership.

Cellino has made an offer to invest in Brescia, confirming his intention to proceed after the club avoided relegation from Serie B.

Now, according to Brescia Oggi, the offer is in the hands of Brescia supremo Marco Bonometti, who is assessing it before providing Cellino with an answer.

Brescia eventually managed to finish in 14th spot in Serie B this season after flirting with the drop zone.

The club finished in the relegation places in the second tier in the 2014/15 campaign, however the bankruptcy of Parma saved Brescia from the drop.

Cellino, who has vast knowledge and experience of the Italian game from his time as Cagliari owner, will hope to be able to help Brescia win promotion to Serie A if he does buy into the club.
