Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has had no contact from Marseille, meaning that a switch to the Stade Velodrome is not currently on the agenda, a member of the Frenchman's entourage has revealed.

Sissoko, who joined Tottenham from Newcastle United last summer, has struggled to nail down a spot in the starting eleven at White Hart Lane and is increasingly being tipped for an exit.

In recent days Sissoko has been linked with a return to France with Marseille, but a member of the midfielder's entourage has denied any contact with the Ligue 1 giants.

"As of today there has been no contact, no appointment or any proposal from Marseille", the source close to Sissoko told Foot Mercato.

"They are just rumours, we have heard about them", he continued.

"There is strictly no contact either between Moussa, or between his agents, and Marseille.

"This is not on the agenda."

Spurs forked out £30m to beat Everton to Sissoko's signature last summer, but the Frenchman has struggled to win over Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Nevertheless, the 27-year-old made 34 appearances for Tottenham in the current campaign, providing three assists for his team-mates, as the north London side finished second in the Premier League.
