New Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani says that the club are already working in the transfer market to build a new team to put at Garry Monk's disposal for the new season.

The club are activating an option to extend Monk's contract for a further year after he led the Whites to a finish of seventh in the Championship in the recently concluded campaign.

Leeds will then talk about a longer term contract with the former Swansea City boss, who has been mooted as a target for Middlesbrough.

Radrizzani has thrown himself into work at Elland Road and has revealed that transfer work has already well and truly begun as the Whites look to build their team.

"With him [Monk] we will build a new team, hopefully, for the next season", Radrizzani said on LUTV.

"We are already active in exploring players' opportunities and to bring some good news", he added.

Leeds have already been linked with a number of players, but it remains to be seen how much money Radrizzani makes available for additions this summer.

The clubs fans have already shown their backing for the new regime and over 15,000 season tickets have been sold.
