Arsenal and Newcastle United target Henry Onyekuru is confident that he is ready to make the step up and play in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old Nigerian forward has caught the prying eyes of several big clubs with his performances for Belgian minnows Eupen this season and is set to leave the outfit in the summer.




Onyekuru has been linked with a move to Anderlecht and Club Brugge, but it is widely believed that he could be joining the Premier League with clubs such Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle interested in the young forward.

And the Nigerian admits that while he has enjoyed life in Belgium, his dream is to play in the top tier of English football.
 


Asked if he prefers to stay in Belgium, the forward told Het Nieuwsblad: “The competition is fun and I have learned things here.

“But I have always dreamed about the Premier League.

"We’ll see where I’ll play and I have plenty of time to make a decision.”

Despite still pondering over his future, the 19-year-old stressed that he feels prepared enough and is confident of moving to England and playing in the Premier League.

Asked if he believes that he is ready to move to England, Onyekuru said: “Believe is not the right word.

"I know very well that I am ready.

“I am sure.”
