Garry Monk is on Crystal Palace's radar, with the manager having resigned as Leeds United head coach on Thursday morning.

The former Swansea City boss led Leeds to a finish of seventh in the Championship this season, but was out of contract this summer.

Leeds wanted to activate a year-long extension in Monk's contract and signalled their intention to do so by the end of this week.

But Monk's agent indicated his client did not want the option activating and the head coach tendered his resignation, which has now been accepted.

Leeds fans are speculating as to why Monk has quit, with suggestions that he may have another role lined up; Monk has been linked with Middlesbrough.
