Tottenham Hotspur are continuing talks with Espanyol over goalkeeper Pau Lopez.

The Spanish shot-stopper is closing in on the end of a season-long loan at White Hart Lane, though did not make a single competitive first team appearance.

Lopez is expected to be between the sticks when Spurs play in Hong Kong in a post-season friendly on Friday, but it is not yet clear whether the Spaniard will be staying at the Premier League club.

Espanyol want a prior agreed fee of €7m for Lopez, but according to Spanish daily AS, Spurs are unwilling to meet the figure.

Lopez will be looking to impress between the sticks for Spurs if he does feature in Hong Kong.

While Lopez was involved in five Premier League matchday squads this season, he did not play a single minute. He also sat on the bench on four occasions in the FA Cup and once in the EFL Cup.

Lopez has played for Spurs in the Premier League 2, for the club's Under-23 side, making seven appearances.

He is due to link up with Spain Under-21s for the European Championship this summer.
