Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong has insisted that he is desperate to get his hands on the Scottish Cup this season, having missed out on it previously during his time at Dundee United.

The Hoops will finish their entire domestic campaign undefeated and win the treble if they manage to beat Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday.

Armstrong, who has been in stellar form this season, scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists in 46 games, is expected to start against the Dons at Hampden.

It will be the 25-year-old’s second appearance in a Scottish Cup final; Armstrong was part of the Dundee United team which lost the final 2-0 to St. Johnstone in the 2013/14 season.

And the Scotland international, who explained that he was very much disappointed after missing out on the Scottish Cup three seasons ago, said that he would like to grasp the trophy this time.

“We had a very good team and it was a huge disappointment surrounding it.

“The Scottish Cup has eluded me before and I really would like to grasp it this time around.”
