Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold believes that it is exciting for the club to be back in the Champions League as it is where they belong.

Champions League nights are expected to return to Anfield next season if the Reds manage to come out unscathed from the playoff round and get to the group stage.

The 18-year-old is excited about the prospect of seeing Champions League football return to Anfield as he believes that the Reds belong to that elite group of clubs and should be playing in such a big tournament.

Having grown up seeing the club take part in famous Champions League matches, the youngster insists that nothing compares to them.

“It’s exciting having the Champions League. It’s Europe’s elite and it’s where the club belongs", the youngster told his club's official website.

“Having those nights at Anfield, nothing compares to them.

"They were spectacular when I went to them growing up as a kid with the flags and scarves.”

On the potential signings that Jurgen Klopp is going to make in the summer and the competition they are going to offer to him, Alexander-Arnold said that he will keep on fighting and show the manager his quality.

“You know there are going to be some new signings so in pre-season you have to fight for a position and show the manager why he can rely on you.

"Hopefully I’ll do that."
