Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that striker Moussa Dembele will be fit to face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday and could start.

The 20-year-old has been out of action for the Bhoys since picking up a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win against Rangers in the semi-final of the same tournament last month.

Until late last week the Bhoys were uncertain on the issue of whether the in-form striker would be fit for the big cup final, with assistant manager Chris Davies revealing that the striker had started light training following his injury.

Rodgers though has now confirmed that his team will have the services of the player for the match as they look to end the domestic season unbeaten and thus become the first team to do so.

"He is fine. He trained well this week. He will be fine to start", Rodgers said at a pre-match press conference.

Reflecting on their opponents on Saturday, Rodgers said that Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is an outstanding coach and is always ready to provide a different kind of competition in each game.

"This will be the sixth time playing Aberdeen.

"We have played different systems and shapes, but our style has always remained the same.

"We have enjoyed the games against Aberdeen. Derek is an outstanding coach and manager and they have provided us with different challenges."
