Bruno Ghirardi, who acts as Massimo Cellino's legal and personal advisor, insists the Italian worked a miracle at Leeds United due to the size of the club's debts.

Cellino has just sold his remaining shareholding in Leeds to countryman Andrea Radrizzani, bringing the curtains down on a controversial spell as chairman.

The Italian saw some of the club's fans turn against him over the course of his reign, as he regularly worked his way through head coaches; one appointment lasted only 32 days.

Cellino is now weighing up taking control of Brescia or Genoa as he aims for a quick return to football club ownership.

For Ghirardi, Cellino will enter his next club on a high, having worked wonders at Leeds.

"At Leeds he worked a miracle", he told Repubblica Genova.

"In two years he brought a club that had £24m debts into balance."

Leeds fans are now looking for Radrizzani to push the club forward, with Cellino having departed following the Whites finishing in seventh spot in the Championship table.

Cellino meanwhile could return to football with Serie A side Genoa or Serie B outfit Brescia; taking control of the latter would mean he could live with his family in Milan.

And Ghirardi's advice is clear.

"My passionate advice? Go to Genoa", he added.
