Rangers are showing interest in Benfica's serial loanee Daniel Candeias, as Portuguese boss Pedro Caixinha looks to make signings ahead of his side's early start next season.

Caixinha is already moving to snap up another Benfica player in the shape of Dalcio Gomes, who is set to head to Ibrox on a season-long loan deal; the midfielder could join the Gers by the end of the week.

He could be joined by team-mate Candeias, as Caixinha is keen, according to Portuguese daily Diario de Noticias.

Candeias, 29, operates as a right-sided midfielder and has just spent the season on loan in Turkey with Alanyaspor.

Benfica are willing to deal with Rangers for Candeias, whose contract at the Estadio da Luz runs until the summer of 2019.
