Chelsea talent Kasey Palmer has taken a pot shot at Leeds United fans after he helped Huddersfield Town win promotion to the Premier League.

After a drab 120 minutes of action at Wembley, with Huddersfield locking horns with Reading in the Championship playoff final, David Wagner's men held their nerve to run out 4-3 winners on penalties and book a top flight spot.

Palmer, on loan from Chelsea, was introduced in the 98th minute by Wagner, replacing another Chelsea talent, Izzy Brown.

The 20-year-old midfielder is delighted with helping the Terriers win promotion, but was quick to take a swipe at Leeds fans who he says sent him messages on social media when he injured his hamstring.

He wrote on Twitter: "To all of the Leeds fans who tweeted me hate after I pulled my hamstring…tweet me now, that was for you!

Palmer has enjoyed regular game time with Huddersfield this term and it remains to be seen if the Terriers try to keep hold of him in the Premier League next season.

Leeds will be hoping to follow in Huddersfield's footsteps by winning promotion next season, having narrowly missed out on a playoff place this term after a late season form slump.
