Chelsea have joined the chase for Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City target Benjamin Mendy, with Antonio Conte asking for more information on the player from his French contacts.

The 22-year-old Monaco full-back could become a subject of a major transfer tug-of-war between the biggest clubs in the Premier League this summer.

Manchester United and Manchester City are already chasing the player and are reportedly prepared to offer €45m to Monaco, with Liverpool also interested in the Frenchman as they seek a specialist left-back.

But it has been claimed that Mendy is also attracting interest from another English side as according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Premier League champions Chelsea have also entered the chase.

Chelsea manager Conte is pushing to take Mendy to west London in the summer and has already been in contact with his advisers in France to learn more about the player.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is personally overseeing the process as the Frenchman is his top target for the left-back position and he has enabled his network in France to get the deal over the line.

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the former Marseille player, but it seems the race is amongst the Premier League clubs, who are stepping up on their efforts for Mendy.

The 22-year-old joined Monaco from Marseille last summer and has a contract until 2021 with the club.
