Moussa Sissoko has indicated that there has been a lack of communication between Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino and himself this season.

Sissoko struggled to play regular football this season after completing a big money deadline day move from Newcastle United to Tottenham last summer and remained a peripheral figure at White Hart Lane.

The French midfielder is seeking assurances from Pochettino in the summer before he makes any decision and wants clear answers from the Tottenham boss.

Sissoko is keen for the Argentine to be clear about his plans for next season as he wants his agent to have time to sort out the offers if he has to leave Tottenham in the summer.

The Frenchman told L’Equipe: “One is never sure of anything.

“Again what I want most is clarity.

"If the coach cannot count on me, he thinks the players who are there are better, well then let him say it.

“The idea is to reach a decision early and if I have to leave, my agent should get the chance to work well.”

There have been claims that the midfielder and Pochettino have barely been on speaking terms over the last few months and Sissoko admits the Tottenham boss could have been more forthcoming.

Sissoko said: “I wish there was better communication.”

The midfielder has made just eight Premier League appearances in the Tottenham starting eleven this season.
