Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti has insisted that the talk of Tottenham Hotspur target Patrik Schick making an imminent move to Juventus is premature.

The 21-year-old forward is pushing for a move away from Sampdoria in the summer and with clubs such as Tottenham, Arsenal and Juventus interested, the player is expected to leave.

Juventus have been in pole position to get the deal over the line, despite reports Spurs have a personal term agreement with Schick's agent, and have already agreed personal terms with the Czech international themselves. They are expected to invoke the €25m release clause in his contract soon.

Sampdoria have been keen to hold on to the player for one more season, even on loan, and Osti admits that it will be down to the club who buy him to make that decision.

However, he insisted that talk of Schick being on the verge of joining Juventus is premature as the Italian champions are currently concentrating on the Champions League final at the weekend.

Osti told Gradinata Sud: “Regarding Schick, since there is a clause, any club that will buy him will have to assess whether to keep him or loan him out to allow him to develop.

“In this case the motivation and the will of the player are critical.

“The talk regarding Juventus is premature as they are in a major final and it will determine the future plans of the club.”

Schick is believed to be keen to join the Juventus squad in the summer, rather than return to Sampdoria on loan, with Czech legend Pavel Nedved having worked his charm on his countryman.
