Rangers have officially confirmed the signing of midfielder Ryan Jack following his exit from Aberdeen.

Jack, who is 25 years old, has put pen to paper on a contract with the Gers to take him beyond his 28th birthday at Ibrox.

He follows Bruno Alves through the Ibrox door after Rangers signed the 35-year-old Portuguese defender on Wednesday and is Pedro Caixinha's second signing.

Caixinha believes that Jack will prove to be a good signing for the Glasgow giants and insists the midfielder is aware of what is needed to play for Rangers, while his years as Aberdeen skipper should stand him in good stead.

"I believe 25 is a great age for him to come here", Caixinha told his club's official site.

"He had three years as captain of Aberdeen and has that experience, he also understands what it means to represent Rangers."

Jack had reached the end of his contract at Aberdeen and as such has not cost Rangers a transfer fee to sign.

The midfielder, who made 250 appearances for the Dons, helped Aberdeen to finish above Rangers in second spot in the Scottish Premiership this season.
