Michael Laudrup has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant head coach's post at Leeds United.

The former Swansea City manager has been linked with the Championship club, who are looking for a new boss following the departure of Garry Monk after he rejected a contract extension proposal.

Aitor Karanka and Claudio Ranieri have been claimed to have held talks with the Whites, but Laudrup will not be joining the duo in doing so as he claims he is happy at Qatari club Al Rayyan.

"The season is over in various leagues and therefore there are now plenty of rumours for both players and coaches", Laudrup told Danish daily Ekstra Bladet.

"I have one more year of contract with Al Rayyan and, as I have continued to enjoy it, I will complete it", he added.

The 52-year-old's appointment would have been seen as a big coup for Leeds had they tempted him to Elland Road, but the Whites have other irons in the fire.

Swansea remains Laudrup's only job so far in the British game, with the Dane also having managed Brondby, Getafe, Spartak Moscow, Mallorca and Lekhwiya.

He led Swansea to the League Cup in the 2012/13 campaign.
