Juventus are prepared to make an offer to Arsenal for goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, after agreeing terms with his agent over a contract.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper is set to return to Arsenal after completing a two-season loan spell at Roma, with the Giallorossi unlikely to sign him on a permanent contract.

The Pole has been on Napoli’s radar and the goalkeeper reportedly wanted to move to the San Paolo but it seems Juventus have taken the lead in the chase for Szczesny.

The Italian champions have already thrashed out the terms of a contract with his agent worth €4m per year and the club are poised to make an offer to Arsenal for the goalkeeper.

According to Sky Italia, Juventus are prepared to slap in a €16m bid for Szczesny and are quietly confident about getting a deal over the line for the goalkeeper in the upcoming weeks.

Napoli were confident of landing the Pole until Juventus started making their presence felt in the chase and since the Italian champions entered the fray, the goalkeeper’s agent ended talks with the San Paolo outfit.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal decide to accept Juventus’ offer for the goalkeeper, whose contract expires in 2018, or try to drive a hard bargain to get more money.
