Benfica have snapped up winger Salvador Agra on a three-year deal, but he is set to be instantly loaned out, with Pedro Caixinha's Rangers an option for the wide-man.

Caixinha had been promised winger Daniel Candeias by Benfica, but he may stay in Turkey after a successful loan spell at Alanyaspor.

It has been claimed that Benfica will let Caixinha take either Agra or Candeias to Ibrox this summer.

According to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo, Agra has now put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Benfica, joining from Nacional, who were relegated from the Primeria Liga this season.

But Agra will be instantly sent out on loan, with Rangers and Vitoria Setubal the options.

Caixinha would prefer to sign Candeias, but talks have slowed and it is now believed the winger is more likely to stay in Turkey than head to Scotland.

Agra is the Rangers manager's second choice and could soon be on his way to Ibrox.

The winger made 33 appearances for Nacional last season, clocking up 1,996 minutes of action.
