Borussia Dortmund are plotting a move for Tottenham Hotspur target Joel Veltman as they bid to bolster their defensive options this summer.

Veltman has won praise for his performances in a young Ajax side which reached the final of the Europa League this season, only to come up short against Jose Mourinho's Manchester United.

He has been linked with a number of clubs, including Tottenham, and recently admitted that if Mauricio Pochettino's side did come calling then his wife would be heavily in favour of a move.

It remains to be seen whether Veltman's wife would be equally enthusiastic about moving to Germany, but the defender may soon find out as, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Borussia Dortmund are keen on him.

The Bundesliga club have been impressed with Veltman's displays and believe he could be a good addition this summer.

Borussia Dortmund are also showing interest in Veltman's team-mate, Kasper Dolberg.

The striker has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United, but it appears he is set to stay with Ajax for at least one further season and Borussia Dortmund are claimed to be more pessimistic over their chances of signing him than is the case with Veltman.
