Leeds United are showing interest in Chievo Verona striker Caleb Ekuban, but must act quickly in light of opposition from Cypriot giants APOEL, who are readying an offer.

The Ghanaian, Italian born striker, has just ended a loan spell in Albania with Partizani Tirana, where he caught the eye by netting 17 times in 34 Albanian top flight games as his side finished as runners-up.

Ekuban has now headed back to Italy with Chievo, but could well be on the move again as his exploits have attracted attention.

According to GHANAsoccernet, Leeds have been in touch with Chievo to register their interest in the 23-year-old.

However, Cypriot giants APOEL are also fans of Ekuban and are weighing up slapping in a bid of around the €450,000 mark.

APOEL won the Cypriot top flight by four points this season and would be able to offer Ekuban the chance to play Champions League football next term.

However, it is claimed Chievo are yet to take a decision on what to do with Ekuban, meaning the Italian side could look to keep him as they bid to improve on their 14th place finish in Serie A.
