Sunderland striker Fabio Borini is feeling tempted by the opportunity to work with Brendan Rodgers again at Celtic, but wants to hear from AC Milan before making a decision.

With Sunderland relegated to the Championship, the Italian forward is pushing for a move out of the Stadium of Light and has attracted interest.

AC Milan have been linked with making a move for Borini and there are suggestions that Celtic are also interested in signing the Italian from Sunderland in the summer.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, the 26-year-old is intrigued by the possibility of again working with former Liverpool manager Rodgers at Celtic Park and is considering a switch to the Scottish champions.

However, it seems returning to Italy is also an appealing proposition ahead of next year’s World Cup and he is keen to know whether AC Milan are serious about signing him.

Rodgers has already worked with Borini, at Chelsea and Liverpool, and is keen to add his attacking talents to his treble winning Celtic squad this summer.

But it seems he will have to wait as Borini still wants to explore the chance to land at AC Milan, especially given the club's Chinese investment and the opportunity to then impress in his homeland ahead of the World Cup next summer.
