Torino are pushing to offer a new contract to in-demand midfielder Daniele Baselli, who is of interest to several clubs, including Southampton.

The 25-year-old midfielder played a key role in Torino finishing in the top half of the Serie A table this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 37 appearances for the club.

His performances have naturally attracted the prying eyes of prospective suitors, with clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Lazio and Roma interested in him.

Premier League outfit Southampton are also monitoring his progress and Torino are aware of the growing interest surrounding Baselli ahead of the transfer window.

The Serie A club are keen to nip all the speculation in the bud by offering him a new deal and according to Il Messaggero, the club are planning to meet the player’s representatives in the next ten days.
