AC Milan have initiated contact with the representatives of Arsenal target Emil Forsberg to discuss the possibility of taking him to Italy in the summer.

The 25-year-old Swede was pivotal in RB Leipzig finishing second behind champions Bayern Munich in the league table in the club's first season in the top tier of German football.

His creative powers have attracted the prying eyes of clubs across Europe and Arsenal and Bayern Munich have reportedly slapped in offers for the player in the summer.

Italian champions Juventus are also interested in the winger and according to Sky Italia, AC Milan have also joined the chase for the signature of Forsberg this summer.

The Rossoneri have touched base with the player’s representatives and are probing the possibility of signing Forsberg in the coming transfer window.

AC Milan are expected to find it tough to sign the Swede without the lure of the Champions League football as even RB Leipzig will be competing at the European top table next season.

Forsberg, who joined RB Leipzig from Malmo in January 2015, scored eight goals and provided 22 assists last season in the Bundesliga.

He has a contract until 2022 with the Bundesliga outfit.
