Crystal Palace have been in touch with former Ajax and Inter coach Frank de Boer, but have yet to reach an agreement with the Dutchman.

The Eagles have been looking for a new manager since Sam Allardyce surprisingly resigned after steering the club away from relegation trouble in the Premier League .




Palace were linked with Garry Monk, but the former Leeds boss has now signed a deal with Middlesbrough.

The Selhurst Park outfit are moving for De Boer and, according to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, have made contact with the ex-Ajax boss.
 


But there is understood to be no agreement yet in place to take De Boer to Selhurst Park.

The Dutchman is hoping to return to football with a Premier League club, but he is also determined to make sure he takes the right job.

De Boer was most recently in charge of Italian side Inter, but felt he was not handed a proper chance after being sacked in November.

The former Rangers defender was contacted by Liverpool in 2012 about taking over at Anfield, but declined to speak to the Reds, who then appointed Brendan Rodgers.
