New Inter Milan coach Luciano Spalletti has indicated that won’t try to convince Manchester United target Ivan Perisic to stay if he wants to leave the club.

The Nerazzurri have already rejected two bids from Manchester United for Perisic and are holding out to receive an offer of around €50m before agreeing to sell the 28-year-old winger.

Perisic is believed to be ready to move to Old Trafford and has reportedly agreed a contract with the club, but there are suggestions that Spalletti wants to hold on to the Croatia international.

However, the new coach has made it clear that though he is working hard to make sure players join Inter, he would not try to convince a player to stay if he wants to leave the Nerazzurri.

The Inter boss was quoted as saying by Calciomercato.it: “We shouldn’t convince anyone to stay at Inter.

“I am already convincing others to join Inter and that is the most we can aspire to do.

“If someone is not convinced, he is good to go and play where he feels more motivated.”

Manchester United are expected to come up with a fresh offer for Perisic but it remains to be seen whether they are ready to match Inter’s asking price for the winger.
