Tottenham Hotspur creative midfielder Christian Eriksen insists there is no substance to speculation linking Barcelona with making a move to sign him and says playing at the Camp Nou is simply hypothetical.

Barcelona have been mooted as being keen to sign Eriksen this summer, although he is not a priority target, with the Blaugrana having more important work to do in other positions first.

Eriksen revealed he has not had any contact from Barcelona over a switch to Spain, which makes questions over whether he would be keen to go hypothetical.

He also noted that even if Barcelona do come calling then he could follow the example of his former Denmark team-mate Daniel Agger and refuse a move; Agger was regularly linked with Barcelona during his time at Liverpool.

"There is nothing from BarcelonaIt’s a hypothetical question, if it happens", Eriksen told reporters in his native Denmark.

"You can dream and hope the opportunity arises. But if it doesn’t, you can’t decide on it.

"Everyone dreams of the opportunity to move to clubs.

"Whether it ends with a yes or no, you choose that", the Spurs schemer continued.

"Agger said no. It may be I’m in the same situation.

"I’ll take a position when it comes."

Eriksen has established himself as a key figure in Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham side and the north London outfit would surely set their face against selling if Barcelona do come calling this summer.
