Chelsea are determined they will not be beaten by Manchester United to the signature of Real Madrid's James Rodriguez.

The European champions are willing to cash in on Rodriguez, as they look to fund a big money swoop for Monaco's Kylian Mbappe, and he has been strongly linked with Manchester United.

Chelsea are keen on Rodriguez too, as they have been on another Real Madrid star in the shape of Alvaro Morata, but the Blues look set to miss out on the striker as he heads to Old Trafford.

According to Spanish daily AS, Chelsea are determined to make sure the same thing does not happen with Rodriguez.

The Blues are now expected to press the accelerator in their pursuit of the Colombia international forward.
