Daniel Candeias feels fellow Rangers summer signing Dalcio Gomes is a quality player, having watched the youngster play before.

The Gers have been very active in the summer transfer window and have already snapped up five players, with Candeias being their latest recruit.

Besides Candeias and Dalcio, Rangers have brought in Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso and Ryan Jack as manager Paedro Caixinha continues to reshape his squad.

Candeias played with Alves and Porto and trained with Cardoso during his time at Benfica.

And the 29-year-old winger, who thinks Cardoso will learn a lot from Alves, thinks Dalcio possesses a lot of quality.

Candeias went on to add that he believes Dalcio’s spell at Ibrox will hugely improve him as a footballer.

“I know Bruno Alves from when I was at Porto, I played with him there and I trained with Fabio Cardoso at Benfica”, Candeias said on Rangers TV.

“Bruno is a fantastic player, I don’t need to say too much about him because he is already known worldwide and is a top central defender.

“Having the opportunity to play with Bruno will help Fabio a lot; when I was at Porto he did the same for me and for the young kid.

“I think that will be really important for him.

“I don’t know Dalcio personally but I have had the opportunity to watch him in a few games and he has a lot of quality, for a player of his generation this is a really good opportunity for him here to improve his football.”

Dalcio, who joined Rangers from Benfica on a season-long loan deal earlier in the month, has represented Portugal up to Under-21 level.

The 21-year-old is yet to make a first team appearance for Benfica, with whom he is contracted until 2020.
