Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson is not expecting the quality of the Premier League to overwhelm Manchester United bound Victor Lindelof.

The Swedish defender is set to travel to England this week to complete his transfer after Manchester United agreed a €35m fee with Benfica for his signature.

Lindelof made 73 appearances for Benfica and has already played in the Champions League, and Larsson is not expecting the defender to struggle to adapt to the beats of the Premier League.

The Sunderland midfielder has pointed out that the defender has already played at the top level for club and country and is not expecting him to find it tough to get used to English football.

The 32-year-old Larsson told Swedish daily Expressen: “He can play anywhere and is an incredibly good footballer.

“It’s not about the league, when you play in such a big team, it doesn’t matter.

"He has played in the Champions League and against France [for the national team].

“The rules are the same, so it will be the same.”

Lindelof is expected to partner Eric Bailly at the heart of Manchester United defence next season and establish himself as one of the first choice centre halves at Old Trafford.

He has also earned 12 international caps for Sweden.
