Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is delighted that all his summer signings so far have been his first choice targets, meaning he has not had to compromise.

The Scottish giants completed their fifth signing of the season when they announced on Sunday that Portuguese winger Daniel Candeias will be joining on a two-year deal.

While the manager admits that the 29-year-old will give a degree of flexibility to his team, he is equally impressed by all his other signings so far this the summer, especially as they were at the top of his target list.

“It has been a busy week for everyone! We are delighted with the signings we have as all of them are our first options, and it’s very good things are going like that", the Portuguese manager told his club's official channel.

Caixinha had the opportunity to work with Candeias while he was the manager of Portuguese outfit Nacional between 2011 and 2012 and through his experience the 46-year-old knows that the winger is a player with great ability, who can operate on either side of the pitch.

“Daniel is a fantastic guy and a great player.

"He is someone who I had the pleasure of working with four or five years ago, and he is a winger who can perform on the right and on the left.

“He is also very skillful on the set-pieces like corners and wide free-kicks, and he is someone who really sacrifices to help the team all the time, both in attack and defence, and I believe he is going to help us to have strong play particularly in the wide areas.”

Rangers are scheduled to play in the Europa League qualifiers next season by virtue of finishing third in the Scottish Premiership.
