Belgian outfit Eupen have knocked back an offer from West Ham for the signature of Arsenal target Henry Onyekuru.

The 19-year-old Nigerian forward caught the attention of several top clubs in Europe with his performances for Belgian minnows Eupen last season.

Arsenal have been in talks with Eupen and the player’s representative, but are yet to reach an agreement, with Newcastle United also interested in the player.

West Ham made an attempt to hijack Arsenal’s pursuit of Onyekuru, but according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Eupen have knocked back an offer from the east London club.

It has been claimed the Hammers have seen their €8m offer rejected by Eupen and it has been claimed that the club want to sell him to a bigger name in Europe than West Ham.
