AC Milan are considering making a move for Newcastle United target Pepe Reina as they wait for a definitive answer from Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper, linked with Manchester United and Manchester City, is yet to give his consent to a new contract with the Rossoneri.

A decision is expected to be made soon as the goalkeeper met his agent Mino Raiola in Monaco on Monday, but AC Milan are not taking any chances with their goalkeeping position for next season.

While they are confident that Donnarumma will sign the new deal soon, they are also lining up replacements should the young goalkeeper decide to snub their offer.

And according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri are considering a swoop for Napoli goalkeeper Reina should the Italian opt to pack his bags from the club this summer.

Reina’s future at Napoli is also uncertain as his contract expires at the end of next season and there has been little progress in talks over a new deal, with the goalkeeper expected to leave.

Newcastle United are interested in signing the experience custodian this summer but they could face competition from AC Milan, who are waiting for Donnarumma to make a decision first.
