Real Madrid and Manchester United are set to reach an agreement over a fee for the transfer of Alvaro Morata by the end of today or tomorrow.

Manchester United have been in talks with Real Madrid for the signature of the 24-year-old striker of late, but are yet to reach an agreement over a fee.

The striker’s agent has confirmed Manchester United’s offer for the player and left it to Real Madrid to take the final call on the Madrid-born Morata, who returned to the Bernabeu just last summer from Juventus.

And it seems an agreement between the clubs is on the cards as according to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, Manchester United and Real Madrid are set to agree a fee by the end of today or tomorrow.

It has been claimed that the striker is set to fetch a record fee worth €75m to €80m for a Spanish player and Real Madrid are close to agreeing to sell the Spaniard to the Old Trafford outfit.

Morata is expected to travel to England as soon as the clubs reach an agreement and undergo a medical before signing a contract to complete his move to Manchester United.

Morata scored 20 goals in all competitions last season but Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane continued to favour Karim Benzema as the club’s first choice striker.
