Sunderland forward Fabio Borini wants to return to Italy despite attracting interest from Scottish champions Celtic, it has been claimed.

With Sunderland relegated from the Premier League, the Italian is pushing for a move away from the Stadium of Light and is set to have offers on his table this summer.

The former Liverpool man is attracting interest from Celtic as Brendan Rodgers wants to reunite with his former Red in Glasgow next season, but Borini has a different idea in his head.

According to Italian broadcaster Premium Sport, the forward wants to return to Italy this summer and is expected to give precedence to offers from Serie A clubs during the summer transfer window.

AC Milan are interested in snapping up Borini this summer and the Sunderland striker is expected to listen to an offer from the Rossoneri before considering other options.
