Rangers new boy Ryan Jack insists that he knew there could be a backlash when he decided to quit Aberdeen and join Pedro Caixinha's side, but was nevertheless keen to make the move.

The 25-year-old midfielder became the Portuguese manager's second signing of the summer after he decided against renewing his contract with the Dons.

While the Aberdeen academy recruit has no regrets about changing clubs, he insists that he knew that a backlash might ensue as a result of the animosity between the two sides.

However, Jack revealed that he did not give too much importance to that thought and completed the move as he felt that it was right move to make at this juncture of his career,

The former Scottish Under-21 international also took time to stress the importance of his interactions with the Rangers manager, which he insists made his decision easier.

"When I spoke to the manager here, straight away I thought this was the right place for me to come to try to progress my career."
