West Brom have cooled their interest in wantaway Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor.

Taylor is out of contract this summer and is desperate to quit Elland Road, as he looks to take the next step in his career.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis has made no secret of his desire to sign Taylor, but wants to agree a fee with Leeds rather than risk a tribunal setting the transfer price.

Little progress appears to have been made and, according to the Express & Star, Pulis is now focusing on other recruitment areas, having cooled his interest in Taylor.

The West Brom boss is keen to direct funds towards signing a centre-back and a striker, two positions he feels are priorities this summer.

It remains to be seen whether the Baggies will return to the table for Taylor at some point this summer, but the full-back has been linked with other clubs.

Taylor has consistently refused to sign a new contract at Elland Road, but Leeds now have a new chairman in the shape of Andrea Radrizzani and have just appointed a new head coach, with Dane Thomas Christiansen arriving to succeed Garry Monk.
