Monaco are prepared to hold on to Manchester City and Liverpool target Benjamin Mendy this summer unless they receive an exceptional offer.

The 22-year-old full-back is one of the hottest properties in the transfer market with a host of top Premier League clubs wanting to take him to England during the upcoming window.

Manchester United and Manchester City have been battling it out for his signature and there is also the suggestion that Chelsea and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on him.

A fee of around €45m has been talked about for Mendy but there is no clear indication whether any of the clubs have made any concrete moves for the Frenchman this summer after an initial probe.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 champions are plotting to keep Mendy at the club next season and are prepared to knock back offers for him.

Unless Monaco receive an exceptional amount of money for the left-back, the club are keen to hold on to Mendy beyond the transfer window and resist offers for him.

It remains to be seen whether any of the Premier League giants are prepared to offer silly money to snare the defender away from the French champions this summer.
