Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Dembele is not concerned by a Premier League opener at St. James' Park against Newcastle United.

Mauricio Pochettino's side will start their campaign against the Magpies on 12th August, turning out at a ground which they lost at 5-1 on their last visit, in 2016.

But Dembele has no issues with Spurs starting away at Newcastle and insists he trusts in his side's ability, no matter who they are playing.

"It’s never easy at Newcastle and they will be motivated to start the season well, but that’s the case with everyone", the Belgium international told his club's official site.

"To be honest, I don’t mind who we play first", Dembele continued, before vowing to make life tough for the opposition.

"I really believe in our own power and our own quality, like we showed last season and the season before.

"We know we can make it difficult for everyone and I’m sure that everyone has respect for us."

Newcastle secured a quick return to the Premier League in the recently concluded season and under Rafael Benitez are sure to be looking to do much more than simply survive back in the top flight.

Both Spurs and Newcastle have yet to get into their stride in the summer transfer window, meaning how they might line up against each other is still unclear.
