Nice are in talks to sign Stoke City flop Giannelli Imbula on a season-long loan deal during the summer transfer window.

Stoke paid big money to sign the midfielder from FC Porto during the winter window last year, but there has been an admission from the club that the move has not worked out for the player or the Potters.

Imbula is not in Mark Hughes’ plans going forward and the Stoke City boss has made it clear that the club are prepared to listen to offers for Imbula during the summer window.

Serie A outfit Torino have been interested in taking the Frenchman to Italy but it has been claimed Imbula could be returning to France with Nice in the upcoming months.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Nice are working behind the scenes to sign Imbula on loan and have held talks with the player and Stoke over a move this summer.
