Rangers striker Kenny Miller is impressed with what he has seen from new signing Fabio Cardoso in training, dubbing the defender a "leader".

Gers boss Pedro Caixinha has been busy in the transfer market so far this summer, drafting in defenders Bruno Alves and Cardoso, midfielder Ryan Jack, winger Daniel Candeias and forward Dalcio Gomes.

Miller, now 37 years old, has seen his fair share of signings walk through the door at Rangers, meaning he has a handle on what it takes to make an impact at Ibrox.

And the striker is impressed with Cardoso who, despite being just 23 years old, is already showing leadership qualities.

"Fabio too has settled in really well and is a good leader and a big voice at the back", Miller explained to his club's official site.

"For a young lad he speaks really well and demands and controls the backline, and the qualities too he has on the ball tie in to how the manager wants to play", he added.

Cardoso came through the youth ranks at Portuguese giants Benfica, whom he left to sign for Vitoria Setubal last summer.

The centre-back, who has been capped at every youth level by Portugal up to Under-20, penned a three-year deal with Rangers.
