Newcastle United linked midfielder Afriyie Acquah has confirmed that he is closing in on a move to an English club this summer.

The 25-year-old Torino midfielder’s future has been subject to speculation this summer and he is expected to leave the Serie A club over the course of the transfer window.




Newcastle are said to be interested in the Ghanaian midfielder and it seems the midfielder could be moving to England as he confirmed that he is talks with an English club.

He further added that negotiations over a transfer to an English club are close to being completed and he will be making an announcement when all the details of an agreement are finalised. 
 


“Yes, it is very likely I will be moving to England”, he told FootballMadeInGhana.com.

“It is 90 per cent complete, but we are still talking, once we finish, I am sure an announcement will be made.

“It has been a dream of mine to play in England and I am very close to achieving this.”

Newcastle could be a potential destination for Acquah, but it remains to be seen whether any other clubs from England are in the race for the midfielder this summer.
