Benfica supremo Luis Filipe Vieira is currently in England, negotiating a deal with Manchester United for Semedo, but he is unlikely to accept their offer for the defender.

There was talk of Benfica wanting €50m for Semedo and while they have watered down their expectations, the club president’s valuation of the player is still more than Manchester United’s proposed offer.

It has been claimed Vieira has told Manchester United that he wants a fee of around €40m to agree to sell the defender to the Red Devils this summer.
