Sweden star Emil Forsberg believes Victor Lindelof’s move to Manchester United is great news for Swedish football and has backed his compatriot to do well in England.

Manchester United have paid Benfica an initial €35m for the signature of the 22-year-old Sweden international centre-back and he has landed at Old Trafford to reinforce Jose Mourinho's defensive options.

Forsberg has himself been linked with Premier League clubs, in the shape of Arsenal and Liverpool, and believes Lindelof should enjoy his time in England.

The RB Leipzig star feels the defender’s move to Manchester United is a huge pat on the back for Swedish football and is certain that the defender will do well with the Red Devils.

Forsberg told Aftonbladet: “I said good luck to him and he should enjoy it.
