Rangers first team coach Jonatan Johansson believes that new signing Alfredo Morelos is about to experience a big step up in pressure after joining Scotland's biggest club.

The Gers have snapped up the young Colombian striker from Finnish giants HJK Helsinki and Morelos has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Pedro Caixinha's men.

Johansson knows that there is a big difference between football in his homeland of Finland and turning out for Rangers in Scotland, but though he admits the pressure will vastly increase for Morelos, he is sure the young striker can handle it.

"Obviously he played for the biggest club in Finland but that’s nothing compared to the biggest club in Scotland", Johansson said on Rangers TV.

"He’s going to have the pressure and get all the attention which is something he needs to handle", he continued.

"Coming from the Finnish league to the Scottish league, it’s a step up and he needs to improve, but I think he’s got every character and every skill that he can do that."

Morelos has been prolific in Finnish football, scoring a total of 46 goals in 62 games for HJK Helsinki and will hope to quickly get up to speed with the Gers.

Just 20 years old, Morelos has only been in Europe since a move to HJK Helsinki in February 2016.
