Leeds United's new head of European recruitment is currently watching players at the European Under-21 Championship in Poland.

Gaby Ruiz has been brought in by Leeds' sporting director Victor Orta and is expected to play a key role in driving forward the club's recruitment under new owner Andrea Radrizzani.

Ruiz previously worked under Orta when the pair were at Middlesbrough and has now reunited with his fellow Spaniard at Elland Road.

His scouting network was praised by then Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka when he landed at the Riverside Stadium in February last year.

Karanka dubbed Ruiz an "important appointment" and explained he knows players worldwide.
