Rangers target Pedro Rebocho has joined French Ligue 1 outfit Guingamp.

Gers boss Pedro Caixinha showed interest in the Portuguese defender earlier this month and was linked with making a move to take him to Ibrox.

But it is Guingamp who have won the race for the left-back, who has left Portuguese outfit Moreirense and put pen to paper on a three-year deal in France.

Rangers have yet to bring in a full-back, with Fabio Cardoso and Bruno Alves the two defenders signed this summer – both operate as centre-backs.

Guingamp's new signing is in action with Portugal's Under-21s this summer at the European Championship in Poland and the Ligue 1 outfit will be delighted to have beaten off Rangers for his signature.

Rebocho came through the youth ranks at Portuguese giants Benfica and last summer joined Moreirense, helping the side win the Portuguese League Cup last season.

He has been handed the number 3 shirt at Guingamp.
